From a book I’ve reviewed for publication and hope to a couple of posts on:
Halos and Avatars: Playing Video Games with God. Craig Detweiler (ed.) Louisville, KY: Westminster John Knox Press, 2010.
Here’s Craig Detweiler’s re-statement of the gospel in game-speak. And I guess if you get any of this you are likely a ‘digital native’
Jesus dropped into the game of our world with both remarkable (even divine) skills and crippling limitations (of humanity) … He submitted to the rules of engagement, even while resisting them, proposing an alternative way to play. After three days, Jesus respawned, took his place as Administrator, and redefined the way the game is played.
